Newcastle United has joined Manchester United in the race to recruit Victor Osimhen, a Nigerian striker.
In 30 appearances for Napoli across all competitions, the 23-year-old forward scored 17 goals and added six assists.
According to Calciomercato, Napoli could be waiting for an offer that exceeds the £85 million mark before agreeing on a trade.
The Nigerian international is said to want to play in the Premier League after moving from the Bundesliga to Belgium and then Ligue 1 before joining Napoli for £67 million in 2020.
Newcastle’s recent takeover implies they can afford to iron out the transfer fees and wages that Osimhen will want.
Eddie Howe’s priority will be to sign a forward, with Callum Wilson, who has only six Premier League goals, as his top scorer.
They already spent £25 million on Burnley striker Chris Wood in January, but they still want to sign another striker.
