Peter Obi, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has formally joined the Labour Party, days after abandoning the PDP (LP).

Friday, Obi announced his new role via his Twitter account.

“I appreciate all Nigerians, particularly our youths, who have joined me in the quest of reuniting and retaking Nigeria,” he added.

“This initiative is for you and your children’s future. “I’m only a conduit,” he explained.

Still on the issue or the drama of Politician Jumping ships to another party after dumping their former Party, Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Senate Minority Leader and governorship candidate, has abandoned the biggest opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governorship candidate, who has expressed displeasure with the state chapter of the party’s handling of the political process, has also resigned from his role as senate minority leader in the national legislature.

This comes just days after Abaribe withdrew from the PDP governorship primary set for Wednesday, citing a lack of transparency as the basis for his departure.

Senator Abaribe informed the Chairman of the PDP in his ward, Ward 5, Obingwa Local Government Area, Abia State, in a letter.
