The Super Eagles manger, Peseiro clinched his first victory for the team as Nigeria defeated the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone 2-1 in the AFCON 2023 Qualifiers at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Nigeria won the thrilling match on Thursday, June 9, 2022, thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi.
Following defeats to El Tri of Mexico and Ecuador in international friendlies played in the United States of America, this will be Nigeria’s first competitive game under new manager Peseiro.
The other two teams in the group are Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe.
