Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, and Shivon Zilis, a senior executive at one of his firms, have quietly welcomed twins.
According to court documents obtained by Insider and made available to the public on Wednesday, the twins were born in Austin, Texas, in November 2021.
Zilis is the director of operations and special projects at Musk-founded and -owned neurotechnology business Neuralink.
The papers, which were submitted in April 2022, were a request by the parents to a county judge in Texas to have the names of their children changed to reflect their father’s last name, and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.
According to Insider, Musk’s twins arrived weeks before the birth of his daughter with his ex-partner, Claire Boucher, a Canadian musician better known by her stage name Grimes.
In an April cover story interview with Vanity Fair, Boucher admitted to secretly giving birth to the child through a surrogate in December 2021.
Musk also shares 18-year-old twins, Vivian Jenna Wilson and Griffin Musk, alongside 16-year-old triplets, Kai, Damian, and Sax Musk, with his first wife, Justine Wilson. The couple had another son, Nevada Musk, who died at 10 weeks.
In June, Vivian, formerly Xavier Alexander Musk, formally changed her name and severed her relationship with her father.
