Nigerian singer and one time Lagos State University (LASU) student, Bella Shmurda has caused ruckus online after he seemingly tried to justify internet fraud commonly known as ‘yahoo yahoo’.
The singer who rose to fame with ‘Vision 2020’ was a guest on Echo Room and he was asked what made him decide not to venture into internet fraud.
Bella Shmurda who seemingly didn’t know the right answer to give at first asked the host, Quincyjonze ‘what is internet fraud’, which the latter responded ‘yahoo yahoo’ to.
The singer first replied ‘because I no know am’, implying because he didn’t know it, but Quincyjonze had already asked another question ‘or you do am?’ which Bella laughed at and proceeded to claim at a point in one’s life, one has to do certain things.
Bella Shmurda then went on to lament the state of Nigeria at the moment and how people had to resort to fraud to be able to measure up to their mates.
He also pointed out that people were growing up and don’t want their children to suffer – seemingly justifying the act.

This didn’t go down well with many on Twitter, who think he wasn’t meant to justify the dastardly act, while others think he was barely spotting facts. See reactions below;
