Deyemi Okanlawon was (born April 19), in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, to Adeyemi Okanlawon, an Aircraft Engineer, and Adeyinka Okanlawon, a baker and entrepreneur. He attended Taikenny Nursery and Primary School in Lagos for his primary education and International School in Lagos for his secondary education.
He later studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a former baker, sales, and marketing executive with a Certificate in Film Acting from the New York Film Academy.
Okanlawon’s first acting experience came at age five when he appeared in an ‘end-of-year’ play while in primary school. Okanlawon appeared in a nationally syndicated television commercial with Kunle Bamtefa when he was nine.

“In this industry, you have to build a structure around yourself because a lot will come at you. Sometimes, when I’m filming, they may want to give me a place to stay – to their advantage – so that you can come on set within the shortest possible time.
