A video of the son of a prominent Nigerian artist, Seun Kuti, attacking a police officer went viral on the internet two days ago. He said that the officer threatened him and his family.
However, Seun Kuti handed himself in to the Lagos State Police Command this morning to give the specifics of what happened that lead to him beating a police officer, as SP Benjamin Hundeyin provided an update on the incident on his Twitter handle.
SP While providing an update on the event, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that Seun Kuti arrived at the Command with his lawyer and a family member.
“Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, in the early hours of today, in the company of his lawyer and family representative,” the tweet adds. He has been arrested in accordance with the law.”
Further talking, he said the Command, appreciated the public for their concern and assures that the ongoing investigation will be detailed, transparent, professionally pursued and also, justice would be manifestly served for all parties that are involved in the matter.
