On Tuesday evening, officers from the Lagos State Police Command invaded the residence of Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti.

The members of the police command invaded his house on Allen Avenue as the singer, who was detained, waited inside one of the police vans, according to a video that circulated on the internet.


According to the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, a warrant was acquired for the raid.

The footage sparked outrage on the internet, with many questioning the need for the raid.
