On Thursday, Guinness World Records announced that Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, had broken the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
The tweet announcing the announcement became the most popular post on their Twitter account, earning an incredible 25 million views.
The video, which originally appeared on Tuesday, was reposted on Thursday along with the caption, “Yeah, so this is our best-performing tweet of all time with nearly 25 million news feeds reached.”
Guinness World Records confirmed Hilda Baci’s achievement in a video shared on their Twitter handle. In their statement on the website, they stated, “After carefully examining all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now officially confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, famously known as Hilda Baci, has broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) with a remarkable time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.”
Hilda Baci had aimed for a record of 100 hours, but she had to deduct almost seven hours from her final total due to the additional minutes taken during one of her rest breaks early in the attempt.
