Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mane, has spoken up over last season’s punch on Leroy Sane.
After Bayern Munich’s 3-0 Champions League loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in April, Mane struck Sane in the face.
Sane sustained a bleeding lip, and colleagues from Bayern Munich had to separate the pair in the tunnel.
Bayern later fined Mane £250,000 and gave him a one-game suspension, the largest in the club’s history.
But the former Liverpool player has now thought back on the repulsive event, telling reporters in his native country:“This kind of thing can happen. It happened. We were able to solve this small problem.
The Senegalese international added, “Sometimes it’s good to solve problems, but maybe not in this way. It’s behind us now.
“We’ll try to fight together to help the club achieve its goals next season.”
Mane arrived at Bayern Munich from Liverpool last summer.
