Micah Richards, a former Manchester City defender, has advised Chelsea striker Christian Pulisic to quit the club in the summer.
Last season, the USA international made just 30 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting on two others.
The 24-year-old only started 10 games for the club he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.
Pulisic has only scored 26 goals and supplied 21 assists in 145 games since joining the club.
Despite demonstrating his talent at Stamford Bridge at the outset of his career, the American has seen his form deteriorate in subsequent seasons.
Richards recently told CBS Sports, “He needs to go somewhere where he needs to be the main man. When he plays for the US he plays differently, he feels like the main man. He’s a lot better than he shows and he needs to be more consistent.”
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher also added to Richards’ comments:
“He has to move on now. Twelve months ago was the perfect time. For his own career it would be better if he could move on.”
