Nigerian star singer, Ahmed Ololade aka Asake has made history with his Headies nominations.
He set a new record as the debutant artist with the most Headies nominations.
This comes after organisers of the Headies Award unveiled the nominees for the 16th edition of the award show on Wednesday.
Asake snagged a total of eight nominations, becoming the first artist to bag so many nominations in their debut year at the Headies.
The YBNL signee also made history in the process as the first artist to be nominated in both the “Next Rated” and “Best Male Artiste of The Year” simultaneously.
His other nominations include: Song of The Year (“Sungba” Remix ft. Burna Boy), Digital Artiste of The Year, Best Collaboration (“Bandana” with Fireboy DML), Album of The Year (“Mr Money With The Vibe”), Best Street-Hop Artiste (“Joha”), and Headies Viewer’s Choice (“Sungba” Remix ft. Burna Boy).
Asake (8) is also the artist with the most nominations at the 16th Headies behind Burna Boy (11).
Reacting to the feat via his Twitter handle, Asake wrote, “Thank you @The_Headies for the nominations. This means a lot to me.”
