In a recent social media post, Super Falcons of Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala said that her father Alhaji Oshoala is not pleased with her choice of celebration for the World Cup victory.
After pulling off her shirt to celebrate scoring a third goal against Australia at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, superstar Asisat, who also plays for Spanish Liga F side FC Barcelona, sparks a social media controversy.
Nigeria won 3-2 on Thursday at Brisbane Stadium thanks to a goal by Oshoala in the 72nd minute. Kanu at 45:06 and Ohale at 65 minutes scored the other two goals.
Celebrating the victory, Oshoala pulled off her shirt, a move that has since stirred some reactions on social media.
The Super Falcon has since become a topic on social media as some tweeps slammed her decision to pull off her shirt to celebrate while others commended the act.
Reacting to this, Asisat Oshoala made it known to all and sundry that her father is not happy with the celebration as a Muslim but she sees life as a collection of moments.
After playing two matches, the Super Falcons of Nigeria tops the group with 4 points followed by Canada with 4 points, Australia with 3 points, and the Republic of Ireland with 0 points.
