AY Makun, a popular stand-up comedian, recently opened up about being labeled a witch, the difficulties he encountered in his profession, and misunderstandings with his fellow comedian, Julius Agwu.
In an interview, AY recounted a time when Julius Agwu was suffering from serious health problems and he remained by him, offering support and assistance.
To his amazement, Julius later accused AY of witchcraft and of wielding terrible powers against him.
Given the care he had offered his coworker in times of need, AY expressed his disgust at the claims.
AY also addressed rumors about him that have surfaced in the industry, particularly those generated by his previous boss, Basketmouth, throughout the conversation.
Recognizing that comedy is subjective, AY humbly confessed that he might not be the world’s funniest comedian.
Nonetheless, he attributed his success to the innumerable rejections, hostility, insults, and cruelty he encountered in the industry.
AY also reflected on a time when he was denied the opportunity to perform at the prestigious comedy show, “Nights of A Thousand Laughs.” It was this very rejection that sparked the idea for his own show, which eventually became a massive success.
