At the ESPY Awards on Wednesday night, LeBron James made a MAJOR announcement, informing the world that he will remain in the NBA.
After surpassing every player this year to become the National Basketball Association’s all-time top scorer, the L.A. Lakers great walked onto the stage to claim the ESPY for Best Record-Breaking Performance.
After 20 seasons, LeBron said during his acceptance speech that he had no plans to retire from the league—talk that was sparked by LeBron himself.
Bron said, “I don’t care how many more points I score, or what I can or cannot do on the floor. The real question for me is: Can I play without cheating this game?”
He continued, “The day I can’t give everything on the floor is the day I’ll be done. Lucky for you guys, that day is not today.”
I’ve got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me, going forward with the game of basketball.”
