Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian politician, and human rights activist, has cautioned Nigerian music singer David Adeleke, often known as Davido, about a music video he recently released on social media in which people were dressed in Muslim praying clothes.
Shehu Sani took to his official Twitter account to suggest that if his supporters are offended by the stuff he uploaded, he should remove it and apologize to the people so that peace can rule.
Shehu Sani stressed that it will be more honourable to take the video down and apologize to those who are offended about the video.
While advising Davido, Shehu Sani wrote “As an artist or entertainer,If your fans feel offended by a piece or portion of your work, especially as it concerns their culture, faith or religious beliefs,it will be most honorable for you to delete or edit that portion, apologise to them and move on.I’m here talking about Davido. This is my own opinion”
The music video shared by Davido on Twitter has since generated several reactions, especially among the Muslim faithful who explained that it shows a level of disrespect to their religion.
