Nigerian Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest attacker, Taiwo Awoniyi came off the bench to score in the 82nd minute as Arsenal defeated them 2-1 in their opening fixture of the new Premier League season at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
With his goal against Arsenal on Saturday, Taiwo Awoniyi tied a record that had stood for 28 years and became just the second Nottingham Forest player since Stan Collymore to score in five straight Premier League games.
The Nigerian international turned to social media to convey congratulations after welcoming a new baby after tying the 28-year-old Nottingham Forest record on his birthday against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Taiwo Awoniyi shared a congratulatory message on the welcome of his new born baby on his birthday after scoring against Arsenal which reads: “Best gift. Congratulations @mrs_taiyeawoniyi @awoniyi18”
