Miss World South Africa has signed Minnie Dlamini to a two-year contract as the new official host. The TV celebrity is familiar with the beauty pageant system, having been crowned in high school.
As a former pageant contestant, I am eager to join this franchise and cheer on the girls who currently stand exactly where I once stood. Starry-eyed, hopeful, and gorgeous, she is on a quest to improve the reality for many people around the world who are denied chance.”
Carol Bouwer said, “ I admire the many young women who have come to epitomise excellence in broadcasting in South Africa and when I look at Minnie I see many of the qualities we possessed at her age as women in broadcasting!
“I am also proud of the work she has done to set herself apart. I recently worked with her and Thando Thabethe amongst the industry giants who were in the room when we adjudicated the International Emmy Awards, it was heartwarming for me to see two young women I love walk in and hold their own in such a historic setting.” The Miss World South Africa pageant takes place at the State Theatre in Pretoria on the 28th of October.
