“Pain is my best friend”- Salle sings her heart out; stirs reactions from Tunde Ednut, Destiny Etiko, others

The incredibly gifted and enchantingly melodic songstress, Kosisochukwu Gospel Peters, known by her stage name Salle, has ignited a wave of deep emotions among both celebrities and devoted fans through her soul-stirring vocals and the raw expression of pain conveyed in her most recent musical masterpiece.

Recall in 2021, video of her singing with a hawking tray, in the streets of Owerri generated massive views after being reposted by a famous Instagram blogger, Tunde Ednut.

The clip garnered an enormous number of views after it was reposted by the renowned Instagram blogger, Tunde Ednut. This caught the attention of top Nigerian celebrities such as Davido and Don Jazzy, both of whom pledged to offer her record deals.

The 18-year-old musician later launched her self-titled debut E.P., consisting of singles like Magical and Rebel. Since then, she has dropped numerous other songs, but her current status in her career doesn’t quite align with the lofty expectations of her fans.

Expressing her frustration and inner anguish through her most recent track named ‘Icon,’ Salle conveyed her aspirations of becoming an icon. She candidly revealed that her mind feels lost, pondering whether she’ll ever be the chosen one and if her moment will ever arrive.

The poignant lyrics in which she sang about “pain being her best friend” encapsulated her deepest hopes and dreams.

Excerpts from lyrics reads:

“I’m tryna be an icon

But my mind’s gone

Will I ever be the right one

I’m tryna turn the lights on

But I might fall

Shey e go reach my turn

And now pain is my best friend pain is my best friend”

Tunde Ednut, the blogger who played a pivotal role in thrusting her into the spotlight, enthusiastically shared the video of her singing those lyrics. He expressed his heartfelt hope that she achieves icon status someday.

Stirred by the lyrics of her song, actress Destiny Etiko and fans inundated Ednut’s comment section with affectionate emojis and voiced their thoughts.
