According to The Daily Mail, a global agency has reached out to Everton Football Club through legal correspondence concerning an outstanding payment of several hundred thousand pounds.
The agency has even gone as far as hiring a debt collection firm in their attempts to recover the money.
Reports suggest that Everton instructed the agency to recruit an international player for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.
However, the club initially refused to pay the invoice and later offered a settlement with less favorable terms, which was also rejected.
Before involving the Premier League, the agency apparently reached out to Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright to resolve the dispute.
This situation occurred sometime between 2019 and 2022, which coincided with the three-year accounting period in which Everton was accused of breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.
Josh Wander, who recently agreed to purchase Everton from Moshiri on behalf of 777Partners, has also been informed about the ongoing deadlock.
