Peter Obi, a presidential candidate from the Labour Party, has sparked a mix of reactions from internet users with his comments on his frugal approach to spending.
A video circulating online shows the former governor of Anambra State stating that he cannot justify paying N250K per night for a hotel stay.
Speaking about his financial decisions, Peter Obi emphasized that he does not condemn others for spending their money but rather has a concern about the misuse of public funds.
He explained that if he were to spend N250K per night at a hotel, he would feel as if his money had been stolen and would not be comfortable with that, given his background as a businessman.
Furthermore, Peter Obi revealed that during his eight-year term as governor, he always flew economy rather than business or first class.
Peter Obi said; “If I go to a hotel and pay N250k/per night, I won’t sleep, I’ll feel like they stole my money.”
