Jada Pinkett Smith, the American actress and talk show host, has shared that she had never desired to marry her husband, Will Smith.
The famous couple tied the knot at the Cloisters Castle in Baltimore, Maryland in 1997.
However, during an episode of her talk show, Red Table Talk, Pinkett admitted that marrying Smith was not her original intention.
She emphasized that her mother pressured her into the marriage due to her pregnancy.
She said, “I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so pissed. I was crying. I cried the whole wedding.
“I really didn’t want to get married. I was under so much pressure being a young actress and pregnant. I didn’t know what to do. But I knew I never wanted to be married.
“The wedding was horrible. I was three-month pregnant at the wedding.”
As previously reported by CREEBHILLS, Pinkett recently revealed in a preview of her upcoming NBC News special with Hoda Kotb that she and Will Smith have been living separately since 2016.
