Daniel Regha, a Twitter personality known for stirring controversy, seems to be unhappy with Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid’s recent act of generosity.
Earlier today, Wizkid announced his plans to distribute 100 million naira (Nigerian currency) during the Christmas season, specifically for the benefit of children.
Using the microblogging platform, X, Daniel Regha criticized the singer’s gesture, considering it a misplaced priority.
He pointed out that Wizkid has yet to fulfill his previous promise of building schools across Africa.
Regha expressed his belief that celebrating with children during the festive season is acceptable, but not with such a large sum of money.
Instead, he suggested that the funds should be directed towards a long-term initiative, such as constructing a free school to provide education for underprivileged children.
In his words: “Wizkid promising to gift children a N100m for Christmas is a m!splaced priority, since he’s yet to fulfil his old pledge of building schools across Africa; If he wishes to celebrate with kids this festive season that’s OK, but nät with a N100m. That money should be channeled into a long-term project, like building a free school to give education to poor children. No offense.”
