According to reports, the highly anticipated fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder is set to finally happen on March 9, 2024 in Saudi Arabia.
However, before this can take place, both fighters need to triumph in their upcoming matches next weekend to prove their worth for the long-awaited heavyweight showdown.
This news comes as Tyson Fury’s match against Oleksandr Usyk, which was originally scheduled for December 23, had to be rescheduled to February 17 due to Fury’s demanding ten-round bout with Francis Ngannou.
ESPN reports that a deal has been made for Joshua and Wilder to go head-to-head in March, but it is contingent on both emerging victorious in their separate matches next week.
This reported agreement brings a wave of excitement, as fans have been eagerly waiting for this fight since 2018.
Joshua’s opponent next weekend is Wallin, who has recently defeated Murat Gassiev but suffered a loss against Tyson Fury.
On the other hand, Wilder will be facing former world champion Joseph Parker.
