Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, is threatening to take legal action against Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo and is seeking N500 million in damages.
Naira Marley’s legal team, Olalekan Ojo (SAN) & Co, sent a letter to Iyabo accusing her of spreading false and harmful information about the singer on her verified Instagram page.
According to the letter, Iyabo Ojo allegedly made a post on her Instagram page in September 2023 claiming that Naira Marley had engaged in spiritual and physical dealings with the late singer Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Aloba.
Additionally, the post accused Naira Marley of causing mental harm to Mohbad.
Naira Marley’s lawyer demanded that Iyabo publish an apology on her official Instagram account and in a widely circulated national newspaper within a week of receiving the letter.
Failure to comply would result in legal action being taken, with Naira Marley seeking N500 million in compensation.
