Don Jazzy, the head of Mavin Records, has finally spoken out after Universal Music Group purchased a majority stake in his record label.
Universal Music Group announced on Monday, February 26th, 2024 that the deal is still pending regulatory approval and is projected to be finalized by the end of the third quarter of that year.
Despite the acquisition, Don Jazzy and COO Tega Oghenejobo will continue to lead Mavin Records.
Confirming Universal Music Group as a majority shareholder in Mavin Records, Don Jazzy wrote;
