Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, has replied to allegations linking Erling Haaland with a move to Real Madrid.

Haaland’s comeback from injury has fuelled speculation in Spain regarding his alleged discontent in Manchester and desire to join the La Liga giants.

During a news conference ahead of City’s game with Brentford, Guardiola was asked about the conjecture surrounding Haaland’s future and whether the reports were true.

Man City finally set to announce Haaland capture, by activating his release clauseIn response, the manager said, “You have to ask the media from Madrid, maybe they have more information than we have. We don’t have that feeling.”

Guardiola stated that Haaland’s two-month absence due to injury should not be misconstrued as a sign of discontent with the club.

“He could not play for two months because he was injured, but maybe the media from Spain, and especially Madrid, have more information than us.

“We cannot say he didn’t adapt quickly and he was not fine since he arrived,” he remarked.

The City boss reiterated that they cannot control media speculation and emphasized, “It’s the level he showed since he arrived on day one.

“We cannot control what people say. When he (Haaland) is unhappy, he will take his decision.”
