Senator Abdul Ningi was suspended by the Senate on Tuesday after claiming that the National Assembly bloated the 2024 budget with a whopping N3.7 trillion that cannot be traced back to any project.
Senator Jimoh Ibrahim’s proposal was seconded by other senators at a plenary session in the Red Chamber.
According to Senator Ibrahim, Ningi’s assertion was not supported by any proof, which violated the Red Chamber’s ethics and ideals.
As a result, Senate President Godswill Akpabio agreed to Senator Ningi’s three-month suspension resolution.
