“You quickly block lines used by Nigerians, but struggle with those used by bandits” – Senator Shehu Sani calls out NCC, Telcos

Shehu Sani, a popular Nigerian senator, has chastised the National Commission Commission (NCC) and telecommunications firms in Nigeria for their apparent inability to quickly cancel phone numbers used by bandits and criminals.

The senator, known for his outspokenness on national matters, resorted to social media to express his worries about the priority of restricting SIM cards over those used by criminals.

Senator Shehu Sani mentioned in his tweet a perplexing situation in which telecom providers and the NCC immediately disable SIM cards of ordinary persons.

However, they falter when it comes to promptly blocking the numbers used by bandits for ransom collection and criminal activities.

“The NCC and the Telecom operators know how to quickly block SIM cards; the ones they are yet to know how to quickly block are those ones used by Bandits to collect ransom,” Senator Shehu Sani wrote.
