Barcelona’s head coach, Xavi, has been given a two-game suspension in La Liga following his dismissal during his team’s 3-0 victory over Atletico Madrid a few days ago.
The Spanish coach will be forced to watch from the sidelines for two matches when the league resumes after the international break.
Xavi’s expulsion in the Atletico Madrid match marked his second of the season.
The Barcelona icon received two yellow cards for continuous verbal complaints, shouting, and gesturing at referee Sanchez Martinez at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
He expressed dissatisfaction with some of Martinez’s decisions and made his frustrations known.
After reviewing the incident, the Competitions Committee decided on a two-game ban for Xavi, meaning he will miss Barcelona’s upcoming matches against Las Palmas and Cadiz, according to SPORT.
