According to a lawsuit filed by a former employee, Kanye West reportedly expressed a desire to build a jail at Donda Academy, his private school.
The ex-staffer, who worked for Kanye’s Yeezy and Donda Academy businesses, has accused Kanye of creating a hostile work environment and causing emotional distress to his employees.
“It was immediately apparent to him, and others, that Kanye treated the Black staff considerably worse than white employees,” Trevor’s lawyers submitted via court documents.
“Even when class was in session, Kanye would scream and berate Black employees, while never even as much raising his tone at the white staff. Often, Kanye targeted Phillips — a Black man — not just with this disparate and harassing behavior, but complete and utter disdain.”
Trevor Phillips, the plaintiff, claimed he faced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation from Kanye during his time working for the rapper.
The lawsuit also alleges that Kanye West made discriminatory remarks towards Black staff and students at the school, and even suggested locking children in cages as a form of punishment.
