Naira abuse: Court grants Cubana Chief Priest N10m bail

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Lagos State granted businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, N10 million bail with two sureties.

Earlier in his trial, the star barman pled not guilty to tampering with and abusing the naira.

Cubana Chief Priest was charged before Justice Kehinde Ogundare with three counts of naira misuse for allegedly spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social gathering, in violation of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

He was accused of spraying the naira on February 13, 2024, at the Eko Hotel.

Cubana Chief Priest was said to have also committed the offences while dancing during a social event.

He was said to have tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 notes issued by the CBN by spraying the same for two hours.
