EPL: Chelsea players not mature enough to compete – Pochettino laments

Paris Saint-Germain sack Thomas Tuchel, set to be replaced by Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, implied that his team’s players may not be experienced enough to compete at a high level.

After a thrilling 4-3 win against Manchester United, Chelsea settled for a 2-2 draw against struggling Sheffield United, with the equalizer coming in the 93rd minute at Bramall Lane.

“At 52, you identify really quickly whether the team is ready to compete or not,” Pochettino told reporters after the game.

“Maybe this group is not mature enough to compete in games every three days.

“It’s a new team and we are still learning about their profiles. The process always takes time”.
