Iheanacho leaves Leicester after seven years, as club move to keep Ndidi

Leicester City have confirmed the departures of Kelechi Iheanacho, Marc Albrighton, and Dennis Praet, whose contracts end on June 30.

Meanwhile, Jannik Vestergaard has signed a new three-year contract to keep him with the club until 2027.

Iheanacho, who joined Leicester from Manchester City in 2017, has left after scoring six goals and assisting three times in 26 games last season.

During his 232 appearances, the Super Eagles hero scored 61 goals and assisted 34 times.

On the other hand, Albrighton, a key member of Leicester’s 2015-16 Premier League-winning squad, scored 19 goals and made 48 assists in 313 games since joining in 2014.

Similarly Praet, who arrived from Sampdoria in 2019, contributed five goals and seven assists in 107 matches.

In contrast, Vestergaard has committed to a new deal following his significant role in Leicester’s promotion campaign, where he started 44 matches.

The club is also negotiating with Wilfried Ndidi, whose contract ends on June 30, aiming to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.

Additionally, Leicester have also announced that star forward Jamie Vardy has extended his contract by one year.
