Snoop Dogg proudly carried the Olympic torch through the Paris suburbs before the opening ceremony on Friday.
The rapper, known for hits like Drop It Like It’s Hot, was one of the final torchbearers, making his way through Saint-Denis and past the iconic Stade de France Olympic stadium.
Dressed in white sportswear and gold shoes, Snoop Dogg put his own twist on the role by dancing and interacting with fans along the route.
Videos captured his energetic journey, and he later shared a photo of himself holding the torch on Instagram.He captioned the post, “Did somethin today (fire emoji) #FollowTheDogg (sic).”
Joining him in Saint-Denis were fellow torchbearers such as French rapper MC Solaar, actress Laetitia Casta, and retired Ukrainian pole vaulter Sergey Bubka.
Representing his hometown of Los Angeles, where the 2028 Olympics will be held, Snoop also took on the role of a special Olympics correspondent for NBC while in Paris.
The 2024 Paris Games will officially kick off on Friday evening, with over 10,000 athletes set to gather on boats on the River Seine for the opening ceremony.
Lady Gaga and Celine Dion will reportedly perform a duet of Édith Piaf’s La Vie en Rose during the event.
