The distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mazi Afam Osigwe, has been formally inaugurated as the 32nd President of the Nigerian Bar Association in the city of Lagos.
Osigwe succeeds the immediate past president of the association, Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, whose term concluded on Thursday.
In his inaugural address, Afam Osigwe articulated that during his presidency, the NBA will hold both the federal and state governments accountable.
He also expressed commendation for his fellow candidates, Tobenna Erojikwe and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chukwukwa Ikwazom, acknowledging their decorum throughout the electoral process, and extended an invitation for collaboration in advancing the objectives of the association.
He committed to fostering an inclusive bar that not only ensures the unity of the association but also propels the NBA towards progress.
The inauguration of the newly elected President and National Officers of the NBA will mark the conclusion of the week-long annual general conference of the association, which commenced on August 23rd.
