Asake becomes first African artiste to top global Spotify debut chart

Nigerian artist Ololade Ahmed, also known as Asake, has made history by becoming the first African musician to top the global Spotify debut chart with his latest album ‘Lungu Boy’.

Featuring 15 tracks and collaborations with artists like Wizkid, Travis Scott, and Stormzy, the album received an impressive 9.42 million streams on its first day of release.

One particular track from the album, ‘MMS’ featuring Wizkid, set a new record for the biggest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria with 870,000 streams.
