DJ Cuppy under fire over prayer for Nigeria amid ongoing nationwide protest

Cuppy

Famous Nigerian DJ and daughter of billionaire businessman, Ifeoluwa Florence Otedola, known as DJ Cuppy, faced criticism online for sharing her thoughts on the ongoing protest.

While many Nigerians took to the streets to protest bad governance, DJ Cuppy expressed her prayers for the country and its people on her social media.

DJ Cuppy asked God to guide the Nigerian leaders and bring peace, unity, and prosperity to the nation.

She also prayed for the protection of the people. However, her prayers were met with backlash as some criticized her for not actively joining the protest.

Today, August 1st, marks the beginning of nationwide protests in Nigeria as citizens rally against issues such as hunger, poor infrastructure, fuel price increases, and more.

She wrote, “Dear Lord, please bless Nigeria with peace, unity, and prosperity. Guide our leaders and protect our people. Let your love and grace fill our nation. Amen. 🇳🇬 #IJN”.

We don’t have any known natural disaster. This should tell you Nigeria is blessed. Just Keep quiet if you can’t join the protest.”

@FS_Yusuf_ said, “Is this what you said during the UK election? Were you praying for them or you took a democratic (political) stand?”.

@stevekaylanre said, “Stop deceiving yourself, God no get hand for Nigeria matter”.

@MO_Shaibu_ said, “L know a coward and a child of a coward when I see one”.
