Jurgen Klopp, the former manager of Liverpool, has criticized Manchester United’s boss, Erik ten Hag, for his handling of Jadon Sancho.
Sancho has been loaned to Chelsea for the season with an obligation for the Blues to buy him next year.
The England winger previously fell out with Ten Hag and spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, but was reintegrated into the team this summer.
Klopp believes that Erik Ten Hag should have given more support to Sancho before he was ultimately sold to Chelsea on deadline day, bringing an end to his time at Old Trafford.
“If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player,” Klopp said.
“I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless,’ like other clubs did by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”
