At a rally on Saturday, September 28, Donald Trump continued his attack on Vice President Kamala Harris by baselessly stating she was born “mentally impaired.”
His remarks were made in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, in an apparent effort to undermine Harris’s role in immigration issues.
“Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala, was born that way,” Trump said to the audience, who erupted into laughter. “She was born that way.”
The former president continued: “And if you think about it, only a mentally disabled person could’ve allowed this to happen to our country. Anybody would know this.”
Trump falsely tied Harris to the increase in migrants entering the United States in the past year, despite her actual responsibilities being focused on addressing root causes of migration and leading diplomatic efforts.
Multiple Biden administration officials have clarified that Harris was not directly responsible for handling the influx of migrants.
