American musician Nicki Minaj recently tweeted that her journey will not end in Nigeria. This declaration follows her comments on the microblogging platform X (previously Twitter), where she shared her thoughts on the National Football League’s choice to showcase Kendrick Lamar as the headline performer at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans.
Minaj contended that, given Lil Wayne’s importance to New Orleans and influence on the hip-hop genre, he would have been an excellent option for this important event, given that he is the CEO of Young Money Records and her mentor.
In response to some opposing views, Minaj made a strong answer that echoed Nigerian sentiment. She jokingly stated that “Nigeria won’t kill her,” echoing the well-known lyric from Ayra Starr’s song ‘Comma’: “Sabi Girl no dey too like talk,” demonstrating her link to her Nigerian heritage.
