Singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy and one-half of the now-defunct music trio Psquare, has confirmed that he will never reunite with his twin brother, Peter Okoye.
During an Instagram Live session on Wednesday morning, Paul alluded to long-held concerns from their previous collaboration and criticized Peter for what he viewed as an unbalanced dynamic in their work.
Paul Okoye has made it clear that he’s no longer willing to carry the burden of their musical partnership as he did in the past. Expressing his frustration, he said, “The new me, eh, those days when the monkey works and the baboon eats, I’m not doing that anymore. I’d rather work for myself.
I was always the one singing all the songs, and I won’t do that again.” His statements have dashed fans’ hopes for a reconciliation between the Okoye brothers.
In an August interview, Paul revisited the breakdown of their relationship, recalling an incident from December 2023, when he and their older brother, Jude Okoye, were reportedly arrested due to a petition filed by Peter. Paul explained that after investigations, he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Peter, however, disputed Paul’s version of events, explaining that his petition was aimed solely at their elder brother, Jude, whom he accused of siphoning funds into a secret account with his wife.
He clarified that his intention was never to implicate Paul but expressed his disappointment that Paul supported Jude instead of standing by him.
Peter further revealed that the ongoing feud has been exacerbated by Paul’s repeated disrespect towards him, his family, and his creative ideas, which only widened the gap between the once close-knit brothers.
