There was a scene of chaos following the explosion of a petrol-laden tanker, which resulted in the incineration of two articulated trucks, one 18-seater bus, two commercial cabs, and three motorcycles in the Iyana-Ajia locale of the Egbeda district, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
At the time of this report’s compilation, it is reported that the tanker continues to burn while the other vehicles affected by the incident have been reduced to mere ashes.
The occurrence was reported to have transpired along the Ibadan segment of the Ibadan-Ife Expressway, in close proximity to the construction of the Iyana-Ajia bridge.
It has been ascertained that no lives were lost as a result of this incident.
