Afrobeats artist Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, opened up about his struggles with love and relationships in a recent statement.
He admitted that past experiences have made it difficult for him to form emotional connections with women, leaving him unable to love again.
Ruger shared that his love life has taken a toll on him, making him feel numb and disconnected from his emotions.
“My love life is f*cked up… I can’t love again. My heart is cold. I don’t feel anything again,” Ruger lamented.
Despite previously stating that he could love five different women simultaneously, he now confesses that his heart feels “cold” and he no longer experiences feelings the way he used to.
According to Ruger, he has a tendency to fall deeply in love, and it only takes a few thoughtful gestures, such as gifts and compliments, to capture his heart.
Speaking with The Beat 99.9 FM Lagos, Ruger emphasized that his feelings are genuine and not mere infatuation.

“I can fall in love with five different women at the same time. I don’t know if it’s possible for others but I can do it. And I will actually love them, not infatuation,” he said.
“It’s just easy for me to fall in love. Gifts and compliments make me develop feelings for ladies. I really appreciate gifts and compliments.”
Ruger also discussed his music style, clarifying that although he experiments with various genres, his passion lie in Afrobeats. “I can do every other thing [genre of music] but I am an Afrobeats artiste,” he stated.
