The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a warning against any calls for a military coup in Nigeria, emphasizing that such actions would be considered treasonable.

The caution came after a video circulated on social media urging the Nigerian military to overthrow the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

In response, the military stated in a statement on Monday, released by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, that they are fully committed to upholding democracy and remain loyal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.

The military reiterated their dedication to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and fulfilling their duties. The DHQ directed security agencies to take necessary steps against any individuals or groups promoting unconstitutional changes within the country.
