Tyler Perry’s hit film franchise ‘Why Did I Get Married?’ is set to return over 15 years after dominating American cinema theaters?
Cast members Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, and Michael Jai White have lit TikTok on fire over the last week with their reenactments and references to famous passages from 2010’s ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’
Tyler topped it off by revealing on social media that he is working on a new chapter in the film franchise.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday (October 20), Perry shared a cryptic post with his 7.5 million followers of what appears to be a photo of an unfinished script.
While Perry didn’t tease any pertinent details (release date, new characters, etc.), the uncaptioned post alone was enough to send longtime fans of the films into a frenzy!
At the height of their popularity, the 2007 and 2010 theatrical releases of the first two installments of ‘Married’ grossed more than $115 million combined.
As of time reported, Pop diva Janet Jackson – star of ‘Why Did I Get Married’ and ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’ – has not commented on the exciting news.
