Chidimma Adetshina, Nigeria’s representative, achieved the title of first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe Competition in Mexico.
The thrilling final moments at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City featured a captivating showdown between Adetshina and Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig.
Despite falling short of the crown, Adetshina’s remarkable performance and poise garnered admiration from both judges and spectators.
In a post via Instagram, the organisers said, “The final two! Nigeria and Denmark, two incredible women, one unforgettable moment.”
This exciting competition, showcasing the talents and elegance of women from across the world, ultimately saw Miss Denmark take the coveted title from the reigning Miss Universe 2023.
Chidimma Adetshina‘s decision to withdraw from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest earlier this year sparked controversy but did not overshadow her outstanding achievement at the Miss Universe Competition.
She made the decision in response to worries expressed by some South Africans who questioned her nationality.
Nevertheless, she went on to represent Taraba State and win the title of Miss Universe Nigeria.
