Eguavoen Travels to Belgium for Medical Check-Up Ahead of AFCON Qualifier

Eguavoen

According to SCORENigeria, Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles interim coach, has traveled to Belgium for a medical examination.

Eguavoen is scheduled to travel directly from Belgium to the Super Eagles’ camp in Abidjan as they prepare for an important Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

The Nigerian team will face the Benin Republic Cheetahs next Thursday at Abidjan’s Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.

Camp will open for players and staff on Monday, allowing for a few days of preparation before to the encounter.

Following the game against Benin, the Super Eagles will return to Nigeria, where they’ll host the Amavubi of Rwanda at Uyo’s Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday, November 14.

Nigeria currently leads Group D with 10 points from four matches, holding a four-point advantage over Benin.

A draw in their upcoming clash with Benin Republic would secure Nigeria’s qualification for AFCON 2025.
