Khalid finally breaks silence after being outed on social media

Khalid

Khalid has addressed the allegations of being “triggered” by his rumored ex-boyfriend.

The 26-year-old singer recently responded to claims made by Hugo Almonte, who publicly disclosed Khalid’s sexual orientation last week. Khalid took to his Instagram Stories to share his thoughts on the matter.

“I feel like it’s important to speak my side of the situation,” he said in the series of videos. “All of this is definitely frustrating. I’m not gonna run around like I’m unbothered. I never said I was unbothered by anything. This is very bothering. … I had to say something.”

According to Rolling Stone, Hugo shared a series of now-deleted posts on X accusing a “gay R&B singer” of giving him “pink cocaine” and falsely claiming he broke into his house. Almonte also shared a photo of him and the musician.

In his response video on Monday, Khalid insisted he had “never done cocaine” and denied that he had paid for sex.

“I’m trying to watch my tone now… The last time I talked to this guy was four years ago,” the Young Dumb & Broke singer continued. “This is all random, I don’t know why he did it, and I don’t know what’s going on with him. Mental health is real, but I haven’t even had a conversation or seen this dude in four years.”

The star denied he had publicly accused anyone of breaking into his home and admitted that the allegations were “triggering”.

“Seeing the few comments of people painting me as if I’m just some manipulative abuser, it’s just crazy to me,” he continued. “Regarding the stories of the abuse, it’s triggering because it’s the other way around, and that’s what hurts.”

Shortly after Almonte shared his posts on X, Khalid confirmed his sexuality, writing, “(Pride flag emoji) there yall go. next topic please lol… I got outed and the world still continues to turn (sic).”

He added, “I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it ain’t nobody’s business! But I am okay with me.”

Khalid’s response comes shortly after Almonte told Rolling Stone that he wanted to “share how (Khalid) tried to use his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship”.
