During an honest talk on his Counsel Culture podcast, 44-year-old television star Nick Cannon revealed his diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Cannon, known for fathering 12 children with six different women, including Mariah Carey and Bre Tiesi, opened up about his mental health experience.
While serving at the Los Angeles Mission on Thanksgiving, he told People magazine about his long-held concern of untreated mental health issues.
I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it. I did a bunch of tests,” Cannon explained.
He also mentioned previous diagnoses of ADHD and childhood dyslexia, describing himself as a “neurodivergent individual.”
According to medical experts, NPD is characterized by an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and a tendency to seek attention, with potential difficulties in empathizing with others.
While typically considered a lifelong condition, symptoms can improve with intensive therapy.
Cannon expressed a positive outlook on his diagnosis, viewing it as an opportunity for personal growth.
